Spirit Driven Evangelism by Robert M. Myers is truly
a fascinating book on the ministry of the Holy Spirit to save the lost. Based on the scripture from Acts 1:8: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my
witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the
earth,” the author reveals the call of the Great Commission to all
believers. Yet, he gives understanding
that ministry should not start until powered by the Holy Spirit. He poignantly gives his testimony as well, shedding
light on the power of the Holy Spirit to work through an individual when the
ministry is ordained from the Holy Spirit.
With uplifting testimonies of the encounters of evangelism
that is shared beyond the four walls of the church, the author resonates that
ministry is only effective through the leading and guiding of the Holy
Spirit. The author has written chapters
to facilitate this ministry of the Holy Spirit such as: “The Ministry of the
Holy Spirit, Drinking From the Cup, The Importance of Unity, Working With God,
It’s Harvest Time, The “Go Ye” is Sacred, Three Stages of Witnessing, Growing
Babes in Christ and Walk in the Power of Your Send Mode.” All of these chapters offer biblical, yet
very practical applications of how to walk with and in the Spirit, empowering
believers for the ministry of reconciliation.
Certainly, this book is written by a layman for the
layperson and is a must-read for those that desire the Holy Spirit power upon
their ministry callings. This is an
amazing and highly recommended read for all those desiring to walk closer with
God and to do His will.
