Ministry Mechanics by Christopher W. Perkins is written to
facilitate growth, maturity and discipleship within the core of ministry to
produce much fruit. Designed to, “. . . encourage and educate those who profess
leadership in God’s modern-day church,” and bring a closer spiritual community
within their respective churches/ministries, focusing on the lost in need of
salvation and also provides hope to those that have committed their life to
Christ and who are resolute in serving Him.
Mentioning the discipleship call of Luke 14:25-33 and Luke
9:26, the author encourages leaders to take a look at their own ministries and
identify purpose and function, strategize solutions and assimilate changes into
ministry that will streamline a ministry to obtain a better functioning output
to maximize potential. With an
easy-to-read style, by outlining issues and biblical principles, the author
takes readers on a journey of retrospection within themselves, asks them to
reassess goals, offering biblical advice, scripture verses and wisdom within
each chapter. Such chapters as: What Should be 3 General Goals for Your
Ministry and Assessing the Shortcomings of Your Ministry, bring to the
forefront issues for new leaders or leaders that have been encumbered by heavy
loads and discouragement to give fresh insight to a more productive ministry.
This is a practical, well-written and honest look at
ministry describing the way to succeed within a biblical application. This is a must-read for anyone beginning a
ministry to be able to discern ministry goals, expectation and contains wisdom
and advice on how to avoid some of the many pitfalls. This is a highly recommended for new leaders and or pastors that
need a refreshing, honest, and insightful read that coincides with the Word.
