The Antioch Testament by Donald Joiner is a fictional military novel beginning with Iraqi war veteran Will Foster.  Intertwining modern day Iraq from the view of a Sergeant. Readers will get an inside view of the history of the Iraqi’s and Muslims struggles within their own country. Tinged with religious conflict from tribal affairs, Iraq is left as a home to be fled from by the Christians. Fast-paced and entertaining, Donald joiner writes a fictional account of what might have happened with the Apostles’ journeys that brings home the meaning of being martyred for one’s faith. The author portrays a story of how Iraq currently is after the U.S. presence left, which turned out to be a deadly and costly decision for the Christians.

Focusing on a mysterious Christian book lovingly guarded by a group of Christians fleeing Muslim insurgents, Foster is determined to carry out a dying priest’s wish and would send the ancient book home to his wife in America for safekeeping. The story then unfolds as to what this mysterious old manuscript contains. Fascinating, one will find Scripture intertwined, as the author weaves an exciting tale of heroic details of Jesus’ ministry and the Apostles journey during the epic time of history known to many as the life ministry and Resurrection of Christ. Readers will be glued to the pages as the story unfolds the faith-building story of Jesus of Nazareth and The Apostles that changed the World.

Combining elements of a suspense, God’s providence, patriotism, and The Apostle’s story, this read comes highly recommended as an appropriate read for the season the U.S. finds itself in with the Mid East crisis abounding.  This book hits home and hits its target to inspire faith in Jesus Christ. A highly recommended read, especially for the members of the military and extended family.
