Whispers
From God: Inspirational Poems by Teddie Statler share beautifully written and Holy
Spirit inspired poems received by the author over her lifetime. As one will
read from her Amazon description, the author was a ward of the state from age
10 to age 18. Born in 1938, and shuffled from one home to another, the author
received Jesus Christ as her Lord and her resounding sentiment was, “God was
always there.” That statement is so beautiful and encouraging. To think that as
a child she was abused in all of the homes, except one and continued to speak
of God and his goodness is triumphant.
Life
moved on for the author and she excelled at everything she did. She worked
hard, got good grades and learned life skills such as typing and shorthand that
served her well in the workforce. She worked for many large companies, ending
in the Executive Secretary for the United States Fish and Game Director. Her
life was full and “God was always there,” continues to live on through her
lifetime compilation of writings that will encourage, inspire and bring glory
to God.
Each
poetic unction includes beautiful photography and/or art that make for a
pleasant journey and uplifting read that expresses great gratitude for the gift
of salvation and the presence of His Spirit. Many of the writings have a common
theme of the love, peace, joy and salvation that is only available through the
amazing grace of Jesus Christ. Some give honor and glory to God for His birth,
death and resurrection, that point readers to God and speaks of the salvation
that is available through the Cross. While others, glory in relationships, and
the work of the Holy Spirit, readers will find each one touching and poignant.
This book
is a spiritual journey, inspired by Teddie’s (Thelma’s) encounters with God
that the author had over a lifetime. It would make a wonderful gift and
addition to your library that one would treasure. As a lifetime friend and as
an Editor, her friend Shirley Stokes, felt that Teddie’s writings should live
on and wanted to bless readers with their content. Subsequently, after her
death this book has been published. All proceeds go to Teddie’s Christian
organizations that were designated in her will.
