Just a Little
Donkey by Rozlah Ridenoure reveals a sweet and holy musical children’s book
highlighting the “Little Donkey” that carried a Holy thing down the hills to a
place called Bethlehem. Highlighting the birth of Jesus Christ, the book and
colorful illustrations, as the chorus of the song reads: “Just a little ole
donkey with big ‘ole ears; a tail that is short and stubby; A shadow of the Cross
is on my back; some people think I’m kind of ugly.” As the author goes on to
tell the Nativity Story of Joseph and Mary (with Jesus in the womb) to Bethlehem
in such a delightful and simple way.
The Little Donkey is on to the way to a manger,
just a lowly donkey, carried the holiest gift from our Heavenly Father. Jesus
Christ is born, Kings to come to bow down to the gift to mankind. What gift is
this from Heaven above? Jesus Christ delivered on a Little Donkey…and the ugly ‘ole
donkey doesn’t mind because he knows who he is and that His Heavenly Father
loves Him just the way he is - wonderfully and beautifully made.
Themed with the holiness of Christ, parents can
read this little book to their children to give them the reverence and understanding
of the Holy birth of Christ, and the kindness of their Heavenly Father for
giving His son to the world through His obedient servants – Joseph and Mary.
With hand drawn pictures, and a map highlighting the place in Israel of the
birth of their dear Lord, the author honors God and sheds light that God’s Ways
certainly our not our ways, For His Ways
are higher than we can ever imagine. A wonderful read for parents to help
little ones understand who Jesus Christ is and how much their Heavenly Father
loves them with the help of a little melody written to glorify God in all His
ways!
*This book would make a great gift to little ones
in their stocking or for a bedtime story during the Christmas season! Grandparents who are looking to make a
lifetime and lasting impact upon their grand children should consider this book
as a cute (yet holy), and memorable way to share Christ.
