Sherry Matthew Plaster speaks to youth of today, points them to God’s ways and
the Bible as their guidebook, in hopes of helping them understand that you
can’t do life without God.
We’ve all tried it and as the author famously states,
“Trying to live your best life without God is like trying to nail gelatin to
the wall; it simply can’t be done.” With that in mind she builds a book that
advocates living for God, His purpose and as His gift. Her book is memorable
and gives young audiences firm Christian core values by instilling God’s commandments
and scripture verses that make for an interactive read for young adults. Life
examples and her style of writing speak directly to youths getting to the
“heart” of the matter. Reading this book will help young audiences (and adults
alike) help the youth of our modern-day to understand God, His nature, His ways
and that obeying His Word is the way to success.
The author begins by noting that walking in love is the key,
and the book is designed with fourteen interactive chapters that address
teenage issues such as: love, identity, trusting God, free will, temptation,
purity, faith, doing your best and work ethics, anger, forgiveness, gossip,
lying, envy, and loving others as the basics for the Christian lifestyle. Each
chapter begins with a poignant verse from Scripture that captures the essence
of each subject. Expanding on each subject, the author then presents a
well-rounded and Biblical insight that speaks to the heart of young hearts and
minds.
This is a highly recommended book for Christian parents
wanting to education their children on how to prepare for their life as an
adult and the way to success is by following God’s divine plan. By implanting
the understanding, alongside Biblical teaching, this book will be one that
impacts youth powerfully.
