A Changed Life by Cheryl Hathaway, with colorful hand-drawn illustrations, is written to encourage children who are affected by alcoholism, encouraging them to look to Jesus to heal their hurting hearts.
The author presents her story, as her father was an abusive alcoholic who would say harsh things to her and it wounded her heart. Yet, she chose not to tell anyone and she felt all alone. Because of such, she grew up with very poor self-esteem and felt hate toward her father. As she got older and left for college, her life was a "fake" life. She describes herself as acting happy and being funny, yet she was really very unhappy.
However, her life was changed the moment she accepted Jesus. Her testimony will bring tears to your eyes when you see the way Jesus touched and healed her the very moment she accepted Christ. Her book is written to those children affected by an alcoholic to seek help, let others know and to turn to Jesus for help, salvation and healing of the wounded soul.
This is one amazing children's book. What a wonderful way to minister "hope" to those who need it!
