A Faithful Dad’s Guide to Legacy by Travis L. Zimmerman is
dedicated to all faithful dads that would follow Christ wholeheartedly and for
those who desire to leave a lasting legacy. Built upon core values of
Scripture, the author presents a “12-step Challenge” derived from Proverbs
27:17. Challenging dads everywhere to go deeper with their children, but also
to seek a deeper relationship with their Heavenly Father.
Giving understanding of legacy and the monumental importance
of a dad’s role in the family unit, the author lays out, step-by-step, where to
start. Blending biblical and foundational principles, (with a background drop
of his own dad’s legacy and upbringing), the book gives guidelines to impacting
generations to come with a legacy of following Christ.
Beginning by laying a firm foundation, the author presents
three sections: Laying the Foundation, Legacy: the Past is Prologue &
How Do I Carry It Out? Coupled with dialogue and questions at the end of
each chapter, make for an interactive study for the individual or within a
group study. Further instilling a deep resolve for dads to come into their
heavenly calling as appointed to them by the Lord-as faithful examples of
Christ, he speaks also to the generations that are essentially “a fatherless
generation”, offering hope.
Incredibly inspiring and insightful, this practical guide
offers readers somewhat of a reality check into their lives and past, then
brings them into overcoming past and future obstacles. Forgiveness and
reconciliation are taught, as the author sheds light on Scripture and the
ministry of Jesus. With delightful insight into the Word of God, the author
also focuses readers on the importance of connection with our families,
churches and community.
This book comes as a highly recommended read that is built
upon precepts of Scripture and wisdom, offering refreshment to “weary” dads
everywhere, helping them become faithful dads to build a strong and lasting
legacy through Christ and biblical principles. Truly, a remarkable read.
