The Great Carp Escape by Irish Beth Maddock is a
beautifully illustrated children’s story that teaches God’s love and guidance
for all of His creation.
Filled
with wonder and childlike light-heartedness, this story centers on Beth and her
little brother Paul and their days at their home on a lake. Created from some of the author’s memories
growing up, this story is an allegory based on a true story. Perfect for children of all ages, the author
combines a sweet hometown feel with a bit of mystery, surprise and good-story
telling ability that keeps kids entertained and delighted.
Reaching a little further, the author shows the compassion
and love of a father and that the father will help even the “ugly” fish out of someplace
that has the potential to harm them. A
very endearing story ~ reminding all that God, our Father, will do the same for
us when we get stuck . . . His will is for all to have safety and sustenance
and this includes even for the seemingly insignificant fish A fantastic allegory as the carp escape to
fresh waters….a great message for all and fun and safe Christian based tale for
children and adults alike. A highly
recommended read that will leave you with a smile!
