Scribal Skips: 1300 Words That Fell Out of the Bible by Wayne A. Mitchell sheds light on early hand-copying of the Bible that gives insight, offering understanding and a list of restored scripture verses. Scribal Skips speaks, and boldly offers solutions, offering answers to the Christian who may wonder ... has anything been left out? From Genesis to Revelation, covering both Old and New Testaments, each scripture is restored to the original text.

Some of the exciting examples of text that the author believes fell out of Hebrew manuscripts from scribal skips include: the name Kenan in the patriarchal genealogy of Genesis 11, which is mentioned in Luke 3, three words that fell out of one of the ten commandments in Exodus 20, and king David’s reply when he heard that the ark blessed the household where it was staying. Other fascinating examples come from research of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

This book is fascinating and an awing piece of literary study of language that includes the art of early scribes, that provides to readers the original script or “words missing” from the Bible. The author also gives readers a peek into interesting historical facts of the Bible and that of the early Hebraic scribes.

A vast amount of knowledge is given within this book, and after many years, the author has assembled this book for those that have ever wondered if there were any words missing in the Bible. The answer is “Yes”, over 1300 words have “fell out of the Bible.”

I was amazed at what I both read and learned in the process of reviewing this book. It opened my eyes to things that I did not know, nor had ever been taught previously within the churches. Truly an amazing to read!
