and clear instruction derived from biblical principles to help parents train a
child, and not lecture them.
Beginning with the simple fact that most kids don’t listen
when you lecture the authors’ look at the reasons why parents lecture,
and why kids don’t listen. With sound wisdom and scriptures (most
derived from the Book of Proverbs), the authors have compiled a book that will
help teach children of any age and young adults how to become responsible and
caring adults. They give practical, hands-on advice that will help any parent
engage their child in a positive affirmation coupled with the balance of
discipline, acceptance and love. This
is a highly recommended book that teaches parenting from biblical instruction.
The authors’ note that is it is imperative to build one’s
life on the foundations of the Bible, for as stated within the book, they
submit that the Bible is a firm foundation upon which one should build on. Keeping that in mind, the authors offer keen
insight and examples from their own parenting issues/dilemmas they take the
reader on a journey into such topics as: responsibility, accountability,
discipline, the heart of the matter, taming the stubborn heart, the art of
asking questions, understanding point-of-views and so much more that give
parents practical tools for developing responsible children. As such, this book
is aimed at developing a healthy and happy parent/child relationship.
If you feel like you are talking to a wall when trying to
discipline your child, this book comes highly recommended. Parenting comes with
a huge responsibility of not only caring for children, but teaching them godly
behaviors, attitudes and actions. With that said, this book is well-written and
comes from a place of much experience, wisdom and honesty that parents can
relate to. Consequently, this book is highly recommended for both parents to
read and go through together to be able to teach and agree effectively on a
parenting plan that works for them.
